The program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is designed with the purpose of preparing students both for a career in Electrical Engineering profession and for further studies in applied and theoretical research.
The goal of the department is to graduate engineers with a strong level of knowledge in the basic areas of Electrical Engineering who are equipped with the capability and capacity to carry out research, and who maintain high professional ethics along with public awareness and environmental consciousness.
There are four options in the program: Electronics, Control Systems, Communication Systems and Solid State Electronics. The course requirements for the Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering total a minimum of 144 or a maximum of 152 credit hours of formal course work. The first six semesters are common to all Electrical and Electronics Engineering students with the aim of preparing the student to choose an appropriate specialization option.
The selection of the specialization field at the beginning of the seventh semester must be made under the supervision of the department advisors. Each student is required to complete at least four courses out of those listed for the option he/she has chosen. During the period of undergraduate study, the student must also work a minimum of 60 days in industry as a trainee. Notes: |
