Heba Yüksel received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1996, M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, California in 1998 and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2005. In 2005, she was a postdoctorate research associate at the University of Maryland at College Park, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Between 1999 and 2002, she worked as hardware design engineer at Ciena Corporation in Linthicum, Maryland. Between 1998 and 1999, she worked as a system engineer at Conexant Systems in Newport Beach, California. Between 1992 and 1996, she was a research assistant in the Institute of Pyhsical Sciences and Technology at the University of Maryland at College Park.
Currently, she is a Lecturer at Boğaziçi University, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. Her research interests include transmitter/receiver design, atmospheric turbulence, Polarization Shift Keying and Polarization Diversity for fade resistance, aperture averaging, and image sensing for Free-Space Optical Communication (Optical Wireless) links. She is an international collaborator with the Maryland Optics Group at the University of Maryland in several projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). |
