Mehmet Akar received his BS (1994) and MS (1996) degrees from Bilkent University,
and his PhD degree (1999) from the Ohio State University, all in electrical engineering.
From January 2000 until July 2001, he was a postdoctoral research associate at Yale University.
In the summer of 2001, he drove to the west coast to join the University of Southern California
where he first held a research associate position till February 2003,
and later served as a research assistant professor.
Between January 2005 and February 2007, he also worked at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth,
before joining Bogazici University in March 2007.
His current research interests include mathematical system theory, control systems, control theory applications in automotive, wireless resource allocation, distributed decision making in sensor/actuator networks, stability and control of hybrid systems, and coordination of multiple autonomous agents. |
